The 5-year old Belgardo and the 6-year old Freiherr von Stein became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the Saxonian Regional Championships in Burgstädt, Germany, on Sunday 7 July 2019.
Eleven combinations competed in the L-level division for 5-year olds and Hermann Gerdes claimed the trophy aboard Ulrich Vité's DSP stallion Belgardo (by Best of Gold x Sonnenstrahl) with 8.3. The chestnut stallion got 8.5 for walk and canter, 8 for trot and submission and 8.5 for general impression. Maja Weber and Silvia Gering's Oldenburg mare Boogie Woogie (by Best of Gold x De Niro) were second with 7.6. The bay mare got 8 for walk and trot, 7.5 for canter, 7 for submission and 7.5 for general impression.
Eight riders contested the M-level dressage horse test for 6-year olds. Susann Göbel and the Moritzburg state stud owner Trakehner stallion Freiherr von Stein (by Millennium x Perechlest) aced the class with 8.2. The stallion got 8.5 for walk, 8 for trot, canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. German Olympic eventing rider Bettina Hoy became the runner up on her own DSP gelding Coconut Kiss (by Calibri x Callistus) with 8.0. The dark bay gelding got 8 for walk and trot, 7.5 for canter, 8.5 for submission and 8 for general impression.
