France's leading young horse rider Jessica Michel-Botton has added a new horse to her string of youngsters to train, Filarmonie de Malleret.
The 6-year old Hanoverian mare Filarmonie de Malleret is by Furstenball out of Dancelle TS (by De Niro). She is bred by Ekke Thaden and owned by the French Haras de Malleret.
Under the Spanish rider Maria Jose de la Chica Parras she finished fifth at the 2017 French Young Horse Championships and in 2018 she won the bronze medal at the French Nationals. That year they did one international in Segovia, winning the 5-year old preliminary test with 80.200% and placing second in the finals test. The duo was in the running for French team selection for the 2018 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, The Netherlands, but they ended up second reserve.
This year they tried to qualifiy for Ermelo under the German flag and participated in the first German selection trial in Warendorf in June, but did not move on to the second round. They also competed in Germany at a local show in Pennigbuttel and placed second in an M-level test.
Maria de la Chica Parras has been the in-house rider at Haras de Malleret since 2014, but on 22 August 2019 she decided to end her employment at the French stud for personal reasons.
De la Chica Parras had expressed that she wanted to finish her service at the end of September and conclude by competing at the 2019 French Young Horse Championships in Saumur, but her term was ended effective immediately.
The ride on Filarmonie was then allocated to Jessica Michel-Botton, who already rides Malleret's Golden Romance and For Fable.
