Swedish Grand Prix rider Kristian von Krusenstierna and business partner Peter Härnstam created DressagePower Academy at the beginning of 2019 and now decided to offer six grants for their one-year scholarship program.
In February 2019 Von Krustenstierna and Harnstam announced that DressagePower Academy aims to educate and empower Swedish young riders, age between 12 and 21, on a more theoretical level.
The project aims to enroll youth riders into a one-year programme during which they get instructed on horse management and well being, training and competition, mental and physical training of the rider as well as team building and communication.
The duo has now announced that they will offer six training grants for the program, not just to youth riders but also seniors.
Two riders up to the age of 21 who participate in one of DressagePower competitions can receive a training grant of SEK 5,000.
Two senior riders, aged over 50 and participing in the DressagePower Senior Tour, can receive a scholarship that consists of training sessions with coaches Liane Wachtmeister, Stefan Jansson, Martin Ågevall and Cecilia Kristoffersson.
Two further scholarships of 5,000 SEK are awarded to riders who are already enrolled in the DressagePower Academy
The grant recipients, decided by Annica Wiberg, Eva Salomon, and Therese Nilshagen, will be announced the Swedish national competition finals in Linköping and at the CDI Stockholm in December.
"It feels great to be able to give “our” riders an extra resource for training through DressagePower," said von Krustenstierna. "Winter training are around the corner and it's so important for next year's performance."
DressagePower is co-funded by the Mats Kleberg Foundation. Shipowner Olof Wallenius's grandson, Mats Kleberg, passed away in 1999 at age 26 years. The Mats Kleberg Foundation was established to promote the care and development of children, to provide grants for teaching or education, as well as to promote scientific research in cardiovascular diseases.
