Gabriele Kippert, the long-time sponsor of German Olympian Dorothee Schneider, has secured a new horse for her ride: the 4-year old Dutch warmblood mare Karlijn V.

Gabriele partnered with her sister Eva Maria teamed up to acquire Karlijn V. The sisters also own First Romance together.

Karlijn V is a 2015 born KWPN mare by Governor out of Normandie V (by Juventus x Sultan). She is bred by Arie Verkuijlen.

The dam also produced Uvender V (by Krack C), who is competing for Britain under Young Rider Alexandra Hellings. The pair competed at the 2016 European Junior Riders Championships and 2019 European Young Riders Championships.

Dutch horse dealer and trainer Roy van den Heuvel got the mare four months ago and rode her together with partner  Bianca Koenen. Karlijn V has never been competed.

"Karlijn is really a dream," said Schneider who got Karlijn in her barn on Thursday 12 December 2019. "I will be training and showing this mare like Showi (Showtime) and Roman (First Romance). I'm looking forward to this new task and am eternally grateful to Gabi and Eva Maria's trust in my team and myself."
