For the third time the successful Almased Dressage Amateurs competition circuit will be held in 2020. This year two host nations - Denmark and Germany - will be staging five shows.

As governments in most European countries have announced  a major clampdown on public functions and sport events to contain the spreading of COVID-19, the organizers of the Almased Dressage Amateurs hope that life will be back to normal in time for the kick off of the circuit on 7 - 10 May 2020.

Three New Host Cities

Almased Dressage Amateurs will go into its third year and even more organiseres are interested in this new concept, that allows amateurs to compete at spectacular horse shows. Therefore the cities of  Balve, Donaueschingen and Verden have agreed to host the tournament for the first time. Hamburg and Herning return on the calendar for the third time.

"On behalf of Almased, we welcome both new as old host cities, and expect great shows and unforgettable experiences for both riders, spectators and the organisers," said Sofie Loft Strandgaard , a spokesperson for the Almased Dressage Amateurs.

For Amateurs at High Profile Shows

Almased Dressage Amateurs is the only international dressage show circuit, exclusively for amateurs.

The shows are open to dressage riders aged 26 years and older, who are not already ranked on the FEI World Ranking List.

"Almased encourage that it will only be amateurs participating at the tournament, and therefore we expect that riders who are training or riding on a professional level, should not compete in this tournament," Loft explained.

Each event will have two divisions: a Small Tour (Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I) and a Big Tour (Intermediate II and Grand Prix). Each of the categories will have two competitions per event and there will be a maximum of 24 riders in total.

The riders have to be entered by their own national federation through the FEI entry system.
