2010 Austrian Dressage Championships

Victoria Max-Theurer wielded the axe of power at the 2010 Austrian Dressage Championships hosted at Gut Auhof in Fernitz, Austria, 3 - 5 September 2010. The sympathetic blond, who is based at her mum Sissy Max-Theurer's castle in Achleiten, claimed the eigth consecutive national Grand Prix title in her career.

2010 World Equestrian Games

The American Chronicle of the Horse reported that the organizers of the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, taking place in less than a month, were forced to cut their budget by $500,000 following poor ticket sales. Jamie Link, ceo of the 2010 WEG, confirmed this to Kentucky.com.

2010 British Under 25 Championships

Sheepgate Equestrian hosted 6 days of British pony, junior and young rider competition at their annual under 25 championships, held 23 – 28 August 2010. The week long B.Y.R.D.S. event was a fantastic showcase of young British dressage talent with hundreds of competition entries and scores consistently breaking the 70% mark.

2010 CDI Cappeln

With less than a month to go before the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, British team member Laura Bechtolscheimer nailed her last minute preparations with the 15-year old Michellino Gelding Mistral Hojris (by Michellino x Ibsen). The pair proved untouchable in both classes, scoring top marks to secure a double win at the Cappeln CDI, Germany, 20 August 2010.

2010 Swiss Dressage Championships - Eggenwil (SUI) - 20 - 22 August 2010

After several days of cold, windy and rainy weather in Switzerland it changed just in time for the Swiss Dressage Championships 2010, held from 20 to 22 August 2010 in Eggenwil near Zurich.
Martin Kroll and his family, who organised the championships, built a high quality outdoor arena on their beautiful property at the end of 2009 to provide excellent conditions for the best dressage horses of the country.

Dutch Dressage News

The equestrian website Horses.nl reported that Dutch political Party for the Animals (Partij voor de Dieren) will be posing questions for the Dutch House of Commons on the LDR training method.

Last week Esther Houwehand, member of the House of Commons for the Party for the Animals, handed in a written request with the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and the Minister of Public Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) about the application of rollkur and LDR in the Dutch dressage world.
