Forty-two dressage colts were accepted for the third phase at the 2012 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Even though The Netherlands got stuck in a snow blizzard today (3 February 2012), the Brabanthallen were packed to the roof with breeding and dressage enthusiasts.
Ampere (by Rousseau x Flemmingh) and Vivaldi (by Krack C x Jazz) turned out to be the top producing stallions. Ampere had five of his offspring moving further to the third phase, while Vivaldi was the top act with seven 3-year old colts passing. Ampere stood out because all five pre-selected sons passed for the third phase. The highly popular Vivaldi presented get with strong type and expression, but not all of them impressed with their hindleg usage.
The Ampere offspring Edmondo B (out of a Jazz dam) was withdrawn right after the second viewing as the owner De Begijnhoeve sold the colt for 50% to German Gerd Sosath. He will be presented at the Oldenburg licensing instead.
The 4-year old Oldenburg branded Jack Sparrow (by Johnson x Wolkentanz II) is also selected for the third phase but he was so via the KWPN Stallion Competition circuit.
