Austrian based American Grand Prix rider Jennifer Hoffmann has lost the ride on her two top young horses, Florentinus V and Ratzinger V. Both stallions are owned by Gunter Voss and have been moved to the stables of Ann Christin Wienkamp, who trains with Oliver Oelrich. Hoffmann trained and competed the stallions for the past two years and successfully showed them at the World Young Horse Championships and Bundeschampionate. Wienkamp didn't need long to adapt to the two horses as she immediately took them to the local show in Isterberg and won.
Zuchterforum reported that the 23-year old German dressage rider Beatrice Buchwald has switched jobs. Initially working as a bereiter at Johann Hinnemann's stable, Buchwald is now splitting her time as a rider between stallion station Schult and Isabell Werth's stable in Rheinberg, Germany. Buchwald made her international break through aboard the Rhinelander stallion Lord Carnaby (by Lord Loxley x Rocket Star), whom she competed at the World Young Horse Championships and Bundeschampionate. The Austrian owned stallion moves to Werth's stable where he'll continued to be trained by Beatrice.
Dutch young rider Rosalie Mol has passed her lorry license driver's exam. Mol works as office manager at Coby van Baalen's dressage stable and was a former Dutch junior riders' team member in 2010. Congratulations.
Dutch horse dealer and dressage trainer Tim Coomans has sold his equestrian centre Hoeksche Waard to Stephanie Bezemer. Coomans ran the training centre for 25 years and will now be focusing mainly on his private horse dealer's yard "Tim Coomans Dutch Sport Horses". Coomans is the discoverer of Steffen Peters' Ravel.
American pony owner Melissa Rose Mulchahey has sold her 2011 Bundeschampionate bronze medal winning pony Coole Optik (by Champion de Luxe x Durello) to a client of U.S. dressage rider Ryan Yap. The buckskin pony was renamed by Melissa into Cashmere de Luxe upon his arrival in the U.S.A. Mulchahey did not sit still for long as she immediately acquired a new pony, FS Djambo (by Don't Worry out of SPS Dancing Flower), which she will compete herself on the California circuit starting in February 2013.
An attentive colleague sent us an important email with the message "google your foal's name before you register it!". While looking at the candidates selected for the 2012 Holsteiner Stallion Licensing, he spotted a stallion with a very peculiar, xxx-rated name. Apparently the Holsteiner society, nor its Belgian breeder, had a clue what some words might mean in English, despite its Latin meaning 'with'. Catalog nr 60 for the licensing is named "Cum Pleasure" (by Cumano x For Pleasure). Woopsie!!
Danish pony team rider Kristine Koch Bejtrup has acquired a junior rider's horse, the 7-year old Lord Walentin (by Sunny Boy x Aquilino). Koch was member of the Danish team that won bronze at the 2012 European Pony Championships in Fontainebleau. She recently sold her second pony Don't Forget to Ann Sofie Nilausen and will continue to focus on her first pony Dornick Son for her last year at pony level in 2013. Kristine is trained by Soren Vallentin.
Jurgen Koschel is replacing Wolfram Wittig on the Oldenburg Stallion Licensing committee this year. Koschel will be part of the committee at the Oldenburg pre-selection as well as the actual licensing. Wittig has been unavailable for the job as he has been focusing on training Austrian Victoria Max-Theurer.
French Pony rider Leonie Marnas, who competed the experienced French routinier Italic des Landes, has made the transition to Junior Riders' level aboard Anne Chapron's Belgian warmblood Sweltmeyer (by Weltmeyer II). The combination scored 68.176% at their national junior debut at the show in Chazey, France.
Dressage-News reported that Steffen Peters will be taking his new top horse Legolas (by Laomedan x Florestan II) over to Europe for a 2013 European show campaign. The combination will be competing at the 2013 CDI Hagen, CDI Wiesbaden and CDIO Aachen. We can't wait to see them here!!!
Dr. Kerstin Klieber acquired the 9-year old Oldenburg licensed stallion Drakkar Noir (by Diamond Hit x Consul ). The dark bay licensed stallion is bred by Ursula Mittermayer and is a full brother to 2005 Bundeschampion and 2006 reserve Bundeschampion Donavan, who later on sold to Cesar Parra but passed away too early after a colic attack in July 2007.
