The KWPN licensed stallion Amulet, one of the last offspring of the legendary breeding stallion Farn, passed away last week at age 30. The 1982 born stallion could no longer get up and was euthanized.

"The last two days he was struggling to get up," Rob Borghuis explained. "When we arrived at the stable Wednesday morning he could no longer get
up. The moment had come."

Amulet (by Farn out of Patoga (by Intendant x Millerole xx) was bred by P. Fransman and owned by Rob Borghuis. Amulet was licensed by the KWPN society as a 3-year old and approved for life in 1999 based on the quality of his 11-year old offspring.

He did his stallion performance test in Ermelo in 1985 and finished 6th out of 24 stallions. He scored 79.5 points with 7.5 to 8.5 for his gaits. The KWPN database features no licensed offspring.

Amulet sired Diana van der Spek's 2000 World Young Horse Championship youngster Mister DS as well as her 2007 Zwolle stallion show horse Living Legend, and he produced Catherine Malone's 2001 NAYRC horse Ivan.  The bay stallion appears more often in the dam line of several dressage offspring, including Australian Grand Prix horse Mayfield Pzazz (by Jazz) and Gabriela Jaworska's 2009 WCYH Verden horse Simba (by Sheraton).
