Gestion Sponsor Adri Strating Passed Away

Adri Strating, the first major sponsor for Dutch dressage, passed away at age 75 on Friday 28 December 2012. Strating was the first major sponsor of Dutch dressage in the 1990s.

Starting, who became a millionaire brokering stock, supported top Dutch dressage riders Anky van Grunsven, Imke Schellekens-Bartels, Arjen Teeuwissen, Edward Gal, Sonja Gademan, and Ellen Bontje on their horses, which carried the Gestion prefix. Famous Gestion horses were for instance Bonfire, Janssen, Goliath, Idool, Silvano N, Kapuccino, Jup, and Partout.

Strating to end the sponsorship after the 2004 Olympic Games, but continued to support Vincent Voorn's Gestion Priamus.

Following the death of Strating; Anky van Grunsven wrote: "A man who meant a whole lot to me personally and for the dressage sport in Holland, passed away. He will rest in peace."

Imke Schellekens commented: "He helped me loads in the beginning of my career, and still was a silent friend and owner. May he rest in peace."
