What's Happening in the Dressage World?

The 3-year old French Young Horse Champion of 2012, Fairy Tale LH (by Furst Romancier x Cavan), has been sold to Alice Tarjan and has moved to Wellington, Florida. The Hanoverian mare Fairy Tale LH is bred in France by Jean Claude Ferrand

and was competed at the young horse nationals in Saumur by her owner Camille Judet-Cheret.

Ridehesten reported that Nadia Algren's 12-year old Grand Prix horse Joker Selection (by Jazz x Donnerhall) has been sold to Danish dressage rider Charlotte Heering. The liver chestnut gelding is bred by Nanna Allerup and was the last three months in training with horse dealers Sanne Henningsen and Klaus Munkedahl.

Charlotte Dujardin's second Grand Prix horse Tatler (by Argentinus) has been sold to Italian Grand Prix rider Norma Paoli Cirocchi, who aims to qualify the bay gelding for the 2013 European Championships in Herning. The new combination is set to make its national show debut in Bologna the second weekend of February.

Sven Rothenberger attended the second phase of the 2013 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch on 1 February 2013  and decided to buy the 3-year old chestnut colt Forlan (by Jazz x Highline x Ultrazon), which ended up not being licensed by the KWPN Stallion Licensing Committee. "We're looking forward working with this nice horse," Rothenberger commented.

Mara de Vries and Bert Poppelaars brand new licensed KWPN stallion Fennovanck PP (by Uphill x Munchhausen) has been sold to Andreas Helgstrand in Denmark. The Danish Grand Prix rider, stallion owner and horse dealer bought the bay colt during the second phase of the licensing.

Bye Bye Denmark!! In an interview with Dressage News, American based former Danish Olympic team rider Lars Petersen confessed that next year he is planning to apply for U.S. citizenship. The 47-year old Petersen moved to the U.S. 10 years ago and has built up a life there. Since then he has no longer represented Denmark at a major championship. Lars said that he is eligible to apply for American citizenship in less than a year and plans to do so. “I like it here,” he said. “I like Denmark, too… to visit.”

Danish Michael Sogaard has sold his Grand Prix horse Pari Cash Foldager (by Cavan x Fanal Prydsholm) to the German dressage rider Marion Wilimzig. The 13-year old Danish warmblood gelding is bred by Karn and Lars Nielsen, was competed at Grand Prix level by Sogaard.

The equestrian event "Outdoor Gelderland" which has been organised at Estate Middachten in De Steeg, The Netherlands, is moving location. The event, which lost its Dutch Dressage Championship status in 2012 and last had CDI status in 2008, is relocating to National Sport Centre Papendal in Arnheim. The 2013 edition takes place 29 May - 2 June 2013.
