Flying Dancer, Price Highlight of the 2016 Oldenburg Spring Elite Auction

Germany’s best 3-year old gelding Flying Dancer OLD (by Fürst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall I x Rohdiamant) was the most expensive horse at the 84th Spring Elite Auction at the Oldenburg Horse Center Vechta.

This beautiful bay bred and exhibited by Wilhelm Hoffrogge from Dötlingen was sold for 235,000 euro to a dressage stable in Austria.

The second most expensive horse was the 2016 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing champion Zodiakus (by Zonik x Donnerschwee x Goldstern). The hammer fell at 200,000 euro. The strong movingchampion is bred by Bernd Huslage from Essen and sold to customers from Switzerland. The German  Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn will be riding him in the future

The third most expensive horse at the auction was the jumper C‘est la vie (by Check In x Lanciano x Wertschatz). This mare is bred by Siegward Majer from Nattheim and sold to China for 135,000 euro.

American customers paid 80,000 euro for the bay gelding Sonnenkonig (by Sir Donnerhall x Hotline x Ex Libris) and 77,000 euro for the liver chestnut mare Elfenspiel (by Bordeaux x Rohdiamant), while Chilean clients paid 65,000 euro for the chestnut jumper Cizano (by Champion for Pleasure x Salieri) and 61,000 euro for Curt M (by Cellestino x Stolzenberg). The dark bay stallion Fugato (by Foundation x Furst Heinrich) sold for 60,000 euro to New Sealand.

Foreign customers showed great interest in quality horses from Oldenburg. More than half of the collection was sold to international Oldenburg friends. Customers from the US (4), New Zeeland (3), Sweden (3), Chile (2), China (2), Italy (2), the Netherlands (2), Russia (1), France (1), Austria (1) and Switzerland (1) will be taking home talented Oldenburgs to ride in the future.

The average price of horses in the riding horse collection ranged around 52,000 euros. Licensed stallions cost around 98,000 euros on average.
