The comparatively new Children's division staged its first Dressage Nations Cup in Hagen on Friday 10 June 2015 at the 2016 CDIO-PJYR Hagen Future Champions. Three teams from Germany, Russia and Italy participated in this first ever Children's Nations' Cup The Children's division already had its first European Championships last year in Vidauban which was won by Switzerland. Germany did not partipcate then but as of 2016 the country has thrown itself into the mix, with great success in Hagen.
The German dressage riders confirmed their qualities as they won both, the individual as well as the team scoring. Valentina Pistner from Bad Homburg scored a fantastic 73.778% with Dorino in the individual ranking, relegating the two Russian riders Anna Guseynova with Lauda (73.611%) and Ekaterina Aristova with Shania (72.333%) to silver and bronze.
The German riders Caroline Locklair from Mohrkirch with Coop Royal (72.056%) and Helena Ernst from Bottrop with Rose Magic (71.833%) occupied place four and five. The German team also took the lead and won the gold medal with one point ahead in the team ranking, followed by Russia and Italy.
It was a fantastic debut for the German children as well as for Chef d‘Equipe Caroline Roost: “It was an exciting, emotionally charged day and at the same time pressure to get all of them on track. I am proud of the girls as they did not only show perfect rides and nerves, they also showed excellent team spirit,” summarized a relieved Roost.
The Children's division is for 12 to 14 year old children either on ponies or horses and they compete at L-level.
German Pony Team Colour Hagen Black, Red, Gold
German pony national coach Cornelia Endres is „completely satisfied”, which is definitively justified as her pony riders undisputedly occupied place one to three in the CDIO-P Nations Cup individual scoring, presented by the Liselott and Klaus Rheinberger-Foundation.
With a final score of 76.068%, Tabea Schroer from Groß-Gerau and her Dornik B-son Danilo outshined the competitors. Only two points less achieved team colleague Inga Katharina Schuster with Cyrill (by FS Champion de Luxe), which resulted in 75.983% for the rider from Frankfurt who finished second, followed by the 12-year-old Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel from Nottuln. The new team member scored 74.316% in the saddle of her 11-year-old dun horse Massimiliano.
Cornelia Endres, Chef d´Equipe of the successful German trio, thinks that her girls presented sound and absolutely convincing performances, that all ponies are perfectly fit and that all of them showed top performances.
Places four to six went to Sara Aagaard Hyrm, Victoria Cecilie Bonefeld Dahl and Kristian Würtz Green, the members of the Danish team. The final result of the team scoring in the Pony Nations Cup was: Germany, followed by Denmark and the Netherlands.
