Florentina, Price Highlight of the 2016 Westfalian Autumn Elite Auction

Florentina became the price highlight of the 2016 Westfalian Autumn Elite Auction in Munster-Handorf on 2 October 2016. The 3-year old For Romance x Sandro Hit offspring sold for 200,000 euro. Florentina is bred by Josef Schlüter and sold to Andreas Helgstrand in Denmark.

The second most expensive horse of the auction was the 7-year old bay stallion Rational (by Rock Forever x Normio xx). Bred by Hubertus Hummelt and owned by the Warendorf state stud, the stallion sold for 158,000 euro to a German client.

The 4-year old dark bay gelding Django Unchained (by Don Juan de Hus x de Niro) sold for only a little less. Helgstrand paid 155,000 euro for the gelding who is bred by Sabina Mauderer and owned by Gisela & Jan Dag Wilms-Ruck.  The bay gelding Le Doux (by Lissaro x De Niro) fetched a sales price of 100,000 euro.

The best selling foal was the black colt Double Niro (by Dante Weltino x De Niro). Bred by Klaus Grosse-Lembeck, he sold for 32,500 euro. The bay filly Falabella (by Franziskus x Ehrenstolz) sold for 13,000 euro.

One of the collection highlights, the 3-year old mare Bella Diva (by Brisbane) who was the Westfalian Elite Mare Show reserve champion, was withdrawn from the auction.

A total of 42 horses sold for an average price of 37,857 euro, which was the second highest average since the spring of 2007. Ten foals were sold for an average price of 8,050 euro.
