The premium Rhinelander bred stallion So Unique (by Sezuan x Donnerhall) became the top seller of the auction of licensed and non-licensed stallions which traditionally follows the Hanoverian Stallion Licensing on its final day in Verden, Germany.

The lot of premium dressage stallions was auctioned first on Saturday afternoon 28 October, after which the lot of jumper stallions followed. Finally the licensed and non-licensed dressage stallions were auctioned at the end of the day.

Wilhelm Klausing's premium stallion So Unique (by Sezuan x Donnerhall x Weltmeyer) became the top seller of the auction moving to Andreas Helgstrand's yard in Denmark for 650,000 euro.

Helgstrand also acquired the second most expensive horse, For Sure (by Finest x De Niro), in partnership with the Luxembourg company Grand Ducal Dressage. Bred by Günter Lindwehr and owned by Berhard Ruwe, this bayt colt fetched a price of 360,000 euro.

The same price was paid for the Dutch bred Toto Jr x Sandro Hit, presented Hans Delsing & Luise Willing. He sold to Austrian gun mogal Gaston Glock, who also bought sire Toto Jr at the Hanoverian Stallion Licensing four years ago.

The best selling licensed colt without the premium label was Vom Feinsten (by Vivaldi x Fidertanz x Weltmeyer), bred by Simone Visser-Rossberg, which sold to the Luxembourg dressage rider Nicolas Wagner for 230,000 euro.

The Luxembourg syndicate Grand Ducal Dressage, headed by judge Christof Umbach and rider Sascha Schulz and sponsored by Patrice Mourruau, bought the premium colt by Livaldon x Worldly for 120,000 euro.

The Sir Donnerhall x De Niro, bred by Susanne Gattermann, sold to Dutchman Theo Driessen for 175,000 euro.  The licensed Dancier x Weltmeyer colt, who is a full brother to Delorean, fetched a sales price of 142,000 euro. The bay Rocco Granata x Furst Nymphenburg sold for 100,000 euro.

The Celle State stud acquired three colts: the premium Millennium x Donnerhall colt, bred by ZG Rösch, and owned by Gestut Sprehe. They paid 140,000 euro for that one. Celle paid 35,000 euro for the Don Nobless x Stedinger and 32,000 euro for Kerstin Klieber's Don Olymbrio L x Dancier.

The strapping chestnut by Danciano x Danone sold for 100,000 euro, while the black Dancier x Bonifatius found a new owner for 90,000 euro. Mykenos (by Millennium x Desperados) will stay in Germany at Gestut Sprehe for 90,000 euro.

The For Romance offspring were much liked at the licensing. The For Romance x Rubiloh sold for 72,000 euro, while the short necked but well moving For Romance x Royal Diamond found a new owner in Bavaria for 60,000 euro.

British Lynne Crowden, breeder of the double World Young Horse Champion Woodlander Farouche, saw her home bred Wicked Game (by Wild Child x St. Moritz) get licensed. A Frankfurt based lady acquired him for the bargain price of 17,000 euro.

The most expensive non-licensed stallion was the dark bay De Niro x Hohenstein, which was kocked down for 35,000 euro.
