Nine stallions, of which five are dressage bred, were approved for Hanoverian breeding at the 2018 Hanoverian Spring Saddle Licensing in Verden, Germany, on 17 May 2018.

Seventeen stallions were entered for the 2018 Hanoverian Saddle Licensing, but four dropped out: Langehanenberg's KWPN bred Tesla, Andreas Helgstrand's Springbank II and Janeiro Platinum, and Axel Windeler's Don Juan x Royal Highness.

Five stallions out of the group of nine approved stallions were fully dressage bred. They are Gestut Sprehe's Erdinger (Escolar x Contender), Bernay (by Boston x Lord Loxley) and De Niro Gold (by De Niro x Florencio) as well as Falko Gerdes' Furstenball x Kaiserdom, and Jennifer Reimer's Dancier x Wolkentanz.

Four dressage stallions were rejected: Jorn Wedermann's Destano x L'Espoir, Isabelle Hendel's Finest x His Highness, Christa Zumbeel's Franziskus x Furst Heinrich and Kathrin Schuchardt's Londontime x Riverside.
