Pony riders Alexander Yde Helgstrand and Frederikke Gram Jacobsen, junior rider Sara Aagaard Hyrm,  and young riders Josefine Hoffmann and Ebba Kjellberg were the big winners of the CDIO classes for youth riders held during the 2018 CDIO Uggerhalne in Denmark on 24 - 27 May 2018.

Also called Equitour Aalborg, the CDIO Uggerhalne is organized by Andreas Helgstrand and Jens Trabjerg and featured an action packed programme across the levels. This year the competition was blessed with the most amazing summer weather, which made it a true dressage summer festival.

The show included a massive schedule for pony, junior and young riders with CDIO and CDI tours in all divisions. In the CDIO pony tour  home hero Alexander Yde Helgstrand took a strong start on his newest ride Adriano B (by De Angelo x Flying Dream), a former Danish team pony under Karoline Rohmann. Helgstrand won the team and individual test but had to withdraw from the freestyle. This left room for Frederikke Gram Jacobsen and the 15-year old Westfalian bred Gee Gee (by Going East x Nansen) to take out the Kur victory with a 74.625% earning test.

In the CDIO Junior Tour, Danish Sara Aagaard Hyrm proved that she has made an immaculate transition from ponies to horses aboard the Skovborgs Romadinov. Hyrm won the team championship test with 72.778%, the individual test with 70.441% and the Kur to Music with 76.917%. She felt the most competition from team mate Laura Jarlkvist Rasmussen on the 14-year old Danish bred Aatoftens Dornier (by De Noir). Daughter to a famous Danish veterinarian's couple, Rasmussen made her international debut in March 2018 and has found her stride at CDI competitions. In the Freestyle, Norwegian Mathilde Merethe Klaesson maneuvered into second place aboard Sandbaeks Rio EL (by Skovens Rafael x De Noir).

Josefine Hoffmann on Honnerups Driver
In the CDIO Young Riders Tour, two riders claimed highest honour. Danish team rider Josefine Hoffmann and Anna Kasprzak's 14-year old Danish bred Honnerups Driver (by Romanov x Don Schufro) won the team chempionship test with 70.833%, placed fourth in the individual with 69.314%, and then rode an impressive freestyle to top the board with 75.500%, far ahead of all competition. The winner of the individual test was Swedish Ebba Kjellberg on the 13-year old Danish bred Bogegardens Limbery (by Limbus x Castor). They were also third in the team test and fourth in the freestyle.
