Ireland's most successful Grand Prix combination - Judy Reynolds and Vancouver K - is aiming to make its big show come back in the summer of 2018.

The German based Reynolds and her 16-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Vancouver K (by Jazz x Ferro) have been absent from the international show arena for almost a full year.

After a highly successful winter show circuit in 2016-2017, which culminated in a fourth place at the 2017 World Cup Finals in Omaha, Reynolds and Vancouver continued their campaign in Fritzens and Aachen in July 2017 as preparation for the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. Unfortunately an injury prevented the pair from going.

Vancouver K has been in recovery ever since. In December 2017 they made an attempt at a come back at the CDI-W London but had to withdraw.

Eurodressage touched base with Reynolds who is carefully optimistic about her horse's return this summer.

"He is doing really well and we hope to be out competing soon," Judy told Eurodressage. "As I ‘don’t like to count my chickens before they hatch’ I won’t say more than that for now."

The 37-year old Reynolds added that she hopes to come back "this summer".
