The 2019 Danish warmblood Spring Auction is boasting an impressive collection of young stallion prospects and talented sport horses for dressage and show jumping.

The Danish warmblood society has carefully selected collection of 27 youngsters that will be auctioned at the annual Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning on Saturday 9 March 2019.

The Danish Warmblood Spring Auction has proven its success with top international Grand Prix horses Skovens Rafael and Donna Silver sourced directly at this auction. Further well known dressage horses that found their owners through this auction are Zaladin MI, ERA Dancing Hit, Blue Hors Don Romantic, and Blue Hors Zee Me Blue amongst others.

Collection Highlights

An absolute show stopper is the 3-year old stallion licensing candidate Hesselhøj Down Town (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Zack x Ragazzo). He embodies the complete stallion; an absolute joy to the eye with his relaxed walk, the most beautiful uphill canter and an unlimited trot. He is a horse that is not easily forgotten. Hesselhøj Downtown is out of a damline of medal winning mares: his dam and grand dam are silver medal winners at breed shows. From this line also come the B-dressage horse Paso Double and the bronze medal winning mare Picota.

Sorbet (by Sezuan x Swarovski)
The 5-year old mare Sorbet (by Sezuan x Swarovski) is pure happiness on four leg. She has a lovable character and an extremely high rideability. Despite her young age, Sorbet has already achieved several great merits: She was selected for the elite mare show as a 2-year-old, accepted in the main stud book, and got in foal as a 4-year old. Soon after getting saddle broken, she was selected for the Danish Young Horse Championship in Herning. Sorbet is the whole package: 3 well-developed, clean, rhythmic and elastic gaits with an engaged hindleg and proper shoulder freedom and knee action.  She always gives a pleasant expression under saddle.  Sorbet’s grand dam is the silver medal mare La Rose. Her dam line produced several licensed stallions.

The 3-year old smashing stallion Five Star Nexen (by Floriscount x Sandro Hit) is the protype of the perfect dream horse: black, beautiful and so talented. Five Star is particularly noticeable, both with his modern look and his large and ground covering gaits. He is a powerful horse which, despite his young age, is already beautifully balanced and works with a positive energy and expressiveness. Five Star is bred at the renowned stud farm Nexen, and his dam line has a lot to offer, since his mother is full sister the legendary gold medal graded and Grand Prix horse Polka Hit Nexen.
