Dorothee Schneider and Sammy Davis Jr will not be competing in the final Western European League World Cup qualifying freestyle in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, on Saturday 16 March 2019.

In Thursday's Grand Prix in Den Bosch, Schneider and Mathias Herbert's 13-year old German Sport Horse bred Sammy David Jr (by San Remo x Wenckstern) landed only 9th with 72.761%.

The pair  has now withdrawn from Saturday's freestyle in Den Bosch.

"Unfortunately Sammy is not fit," said Schneider. "He's brooding on an infection and is coughing. Already in yesterday's Grand Prix he felt a bit under the weather and now we know why. Sammy also does not have an appetite so we decided in the best interest of the horse to withdrawn from the kur. I'm very sad of course, but Sammy's health comes first and I hope he'll be fit again soon."

Schneider is currently standing in second place on the Western European League World Cup Ranking with 70 points behind countrymate Helen Langehanenberg and just a fraction ahead of countrymate Benjamin Werndl (68 pts).
