Christina Boos' retired international Grand Prix horse Remondini has passed away following a colic attack on 28 March 2019. He was 20 years old.

Remondini was a Westfalian gelding by Ragazzo out of Florin (by Fabelhaft x Fluvius x Bariton). He was bred by Ludger Strothmann.

The bay gelding was first competed as a 3-year old by Jutta Osterholt before Boos discovered him at the 2003 Westfalian Winter Auction for 24,000 euro and began competing him straight away. They competed at the 2004 Bundeschampionate and placed 53rd in the 5-year old preliminary round.

In 2006 they moved to Prix St Georges level and by 2010 they reached Intermediaire II and in 2011 they were at Grand Prix. The pair became double Bavarian Regional Champion and won over 35 national big tour classes and was placed in over a 100 S3* level classes. Althought their national career was very impressive, Remondini only twice competed internationally in 2015-2016 at the CDI's in Lamprechtshausen and Samorin.

The horse did his last national show in Pforzheim in April 2018 at age 19 after which he was retired from competition sport.

"He was a very special horse with a great personality," Boos told Eurodressage. "He was the horse of my life. We understood each other blindly, but he was always a surprise to have and in for a joke. Both my partner Uli and I love this horse so much and we are incredibly sad."

Boos recently moved location and is now based at the Ritzinger family's yard in Niederaichbach, Germany.
