Iron Spring Farm’s Friesian dressage stallion Brend 413 passed away after living a full life. He was 23 years old.

Brend 413 was by Brandus out of Meta van de Strubbenhof (by Doeke). He was bred by F. Dagelet.

Brend has successfully competed through the ZZ levels in the national dressage competitions in the Netherlands and earned his Sport Predicate.

He sold in 2008 to Mary Alice Malone of Iron Spring Farm, who stands KWPN stallions such as Sir Sinclair, Kaiman, Cum Laude, UB40 and Danish bred UB40, and was home to the late Contango, Roemer, Consul and Rampal.

Malone also has a passion for Friesian which has a niche market in the U.S.A. She bought him the same year as Florianus. She competed Brend 413 in 2008 and won the Regional Championships at Third level that year.

Brend 413 stamped Friesian horse breeding in the USA. In 2023 he was named the USEF Reserve Champion Friesian/Half-Friesian Sire.  He is the sire of 2 Preferent mares, 3 Model mares, 2 Crown mares and 9 Sport offspring.

Brend’s offspring also excel in dressage, including Tabitha ISF, who claimed 3 USDF All Breeds Reserve Championships (FHANA), and Vine fan de Stuken, Star who also won a USDF All Breeds Reserve Championship. Brend’s sons Eustis ISF and Paxton ISF, Star are both Dressage at Devon winners.
