 Traditional well-known German stallion station Kathmann offers a position for a working student for whom the duties include riding and grooming. "Stallion Station Kathmann" is a well-known station in Germany for foundation stallions like Akzent II, Freiherr, Feiner Stern, Feinbrand and for young stallion champion Florencio (double young dressage horse World Champion)
Co-operating with the Danish station "Blue Hors" (rider Andreas Helgstrand) and the Dutch station "Team Nijhof", Ludwig Kathmann provides services to breeders such as semen-conservation, insemination and shipping, raising of young horses, breaking in and training of young horses, prepare mares for breed shows and stallions for the licensing.
Located in Vechta between Osnabrueck and Bremen the station offers a position for a working student for at least 4 months up to half a year or even a year. This is absolutely an exclusive opportunity for a talented rider who wants to get the opportunity to train internatinal calibre young sport horses.
The person should ride up to L-Level and should have experience with young dressage horses. S/he will help in the stable, groom, lunge young horses, help with the preparation for the licensing (2.5 years old stallions), help prepare young mares for shows, assist the veterinarians with the mares for reproduction. S/he will also be assisting the in-house rider with the training of the young horses. The person will get the chance to take lessons at a FEI-level trainer. If proven very talented, the rider will get the opportunity to compete the youngsters at shows in Germany!
The station is looking for a responsible, flexible and friendly person who speaks English and is willing to learn German. Some German basics would be good. S/he will get full accomodation and will live close to the family at the farm in an own room with shared bathroom with two other workers. Breakfast and lunch with the whole team are included.
This is a superb opportunity for a rider who is interested in the whole process from breeding to training horses. S/he will get the chance to learn the complete programm about breeding upto four-year old horses. They will live and work at a traditional establish breeding station located in beautiful Northern Germany. Of course there will be the chance to visit some of licensings and other famous equestrian events, too.
