Ulbert 390 is the latest addition to Iron Spring Farm's
Friesian lineup. Born in 1998, he is by Sierk 326 out
of the
star mare Famke D. His dam’s sire is the preferent
stallion Leffert 306. Ulbert was one of the top ranked
stallions in the 2001 inspection and he was ranked
3rd in 2003. Ulbert
began his dressage career with 8 wins in 2002 and was
showing at Z2 Level in 2007 before being imported to
the United States.
Ulbert 390 is an outstanding example of the modern
dressage-type Friesian. He has three impressive gaits
that exhibit reach and power. He is intelligent, willing
and very trainable—traits he passes on to his
offspring.
New to Iron Spring Farm in 2007, he began the year
by winning his first classes at Third Level at Dressage
Lexington with scores up to 67.4%. Winning throughout
the summer, he finished the season as the CBLM Third
Level Reserve Champion. Moving up quickly, he will
be competing at Prix St. Georges in 2008. As a sire
his athletic ability is only matched by his incredible
disposition, which he passes on to his get.
Ulbert's dam is from the important Stam Line 128 [Leffert].
Sire Sierk 326 has 4 Approved Stallion offspring, Sibald
380, Martin 377. Ulbert 390 and Jense 432. Three of
the four are from the Leffert line.
 Leffert 306 has produced 5 FPS Approved Stallions,
including Heinse 354. Leffert was 2 times Grand Champion
at the FPS Stallion Show and performs at Z level dressage
with Champion and Reserve Champion wins.
Ulbert has an exceptionally high percentage of star
offspring—52.9%. His son, Maurits 437, was approved
in 2007 and more than 300 of Ulbert’s offspring
have been awarded 1st or 2nd premium at their keurings.
