Name: Waverley Matisse
Date of Birth: May 2020
Dam Sire: Sandro Hit
Height: 16.2 hands
Exceptional colt foal, Waverley Matisse, by Morricone x Sandro Hit x De Niro x Rubinstein; with four white socks and a star, and liver chestnut adult colour.
Uphill, elegant, and very expressive, with superb conformation, he is brave and bold and such a show-off! His athleticism and obvious intelligence bode well for his competition future - and it is his artistry of movement that led us to name him Matisse. A genuinely special package. To top it all we think he will be a true and rare liver chestnut.
His mother, Lady Sun, is an Elite mare from one of the most prolifically successful Oldenburg lines, with a high percentage of licensed stallions and successful sport horses in the immediate family. Lady Sun's mother, grand mother and great grandmother are all Elite too, as are many of her cousins. The licensed stallions Decamerone, Touch of Love, Sir Diamond, Jazzmate, Dreamcatcher and Furst Wilhelm are closely related and share the same grandmother. Ampero (a 2017 Premium Stallion) and Fendi (also licensed 2017) are nephews. Lady Sun has bred an International Small Tour competition horse Figaro de Hus, a Vechta licensed stallion (Hot Story), and a final round Vechta stallion candidate Don Amour owned by Jessica Michel-Botton.
Morricone, as one of the most successful beeding and competition stallions of recent times, needs little introduction. We particularly love his ability to execute the Grand Prix movements in a headcollar, proving himself to be one of the most rideable and trainable of horses. His progeny are not only beautiful but reliably kind and talented and we have used him many times.
