A record breaking auction was held at the Westphalian Equestrian center in Munster-Handorf, Germany. Never before did so many horsesget sold for a price more than 100,000 DM. They were with six, the top scorer of the 20th Elite collection.
Absolute highlight of the evening was the sale of the 3-year-old reserve champion at the 2000 Bundeschampionate, Dollmann I. The pitch black licensed stallion by Davignon II x Amor x Schoenborn produced a record price of 600,000 DM. Put up for sale by Walter Frie, Dollmann I got approved for the Westphalian verband only this year and already became reserve champion of the 30-day stallion test. At the Westfalen Wappen, a show exclusively for Westphalians, the three-year-old scored 9.0 on walk, 9.0 on trot and 9.5 on canter.
Second most expensive horse was Festival, a liver chestnut gelding by Fleurop x Rosenkavalier x Filter. The 16.2 hands high dressage candidate switched owners for 280,000 Deutsch Marks. Masters Cup, a Mon Cheri x Artwig x Weinhang bay gelding, was good for a decent 135,000 DM price.
Favereux (Fidermark x Fidelio), Ehrendivision (Ehrentanz x Feuerschein) and show jumping mount Prevail (Pessoa x Ehrentusch) all teetered round the amount of 120,000 marks.
The top selling foal was Lorenzo, a lovely bay colt by show jumping star Lancer III out of Weinrebe (by Weinberg x Pilot). Lorenzo will leave his dam for 19,000 DM.
