The grey Danish warmblood mare Donna Silver became the price highlight at the auction held at the 2006 Danish warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, Denmark. Selling for 560,000 Danish Kroner (approximately 76,000 euro)
, Donna Silver was purchased by Berit and Louis Nielsen in a tough bidding duel with Danish horse dealer Hasse Hoffmann. The mare is by Blue Hors Don Schufro out of Wilma (by Willemoes x Cannon Row xx).
Donna Silver is currently in the top six at the 2006 Danish warmblood young horse championship and was proclaimed Mare of the Year 2004. She's a gold medal winner and will join gold medal winning mare Polka Hit Nexen (by Sandro Hit) at Nielsen's stable in Denmark.
The second most expensive horse was Cocktail, a dapple grey Carano x Lagano offspring with good show jumping potential. The slender Cocktail sold for 430,000 DKK (= 58,904 €).
The third highest price was paid for the licensed stallion Skywalker, a Blue Hors Future Cup x Donnerhall x Schwadroneur son. This lovely built bay stallion has three excellent gaits and has a very pretty model. Selling for 255,000 DKK (=34,932 €), the buyer on the phone made a very good deal by acquiring this young dressage stallion.
The auction at the Danish Stallion Licensing is the place to do a good buy. The prices are extremely low here, averaging 15,000 euro for a lovely young riding horse. The quality of the auction can be compared with the Verden Equitop and Vechta Spezial Auslese auctions in Germany.
