Spanish Grand Prix and WEG team rider Borja Carrascosa has decided to go independent and leave his job as assistant trainer at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, Germany. His position will be filled by Steffen Frahm, who was previously head rider at Jens Meyer's stallion station in Dorum, Germany.

Spanish Borja Carrascosa Martinez will go independent but his connection to Hof Kasselmann will continue to exist and remain amical. He will still be competing Hof Kasselmann's young dressage horses with which he qualified for the 2015 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf next week.

Carrascosa will move to Gut Auric in Krefeld with his life partner Alexander Brenninkmeijer. There they will focus on training and competing dressage horses.

During his time at Hof Kasselmann (2011-2015) Carrascosa Martinez celebrated many national and international victories with young dressage horses and up to Grand Prix level. Aboard Hof Kasselmann's beautiful Hicksteadt (by His Highness) he made it onto the Spanish team at the 2013 CDIO Aachen and 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

Carrascosa's position will be filled by 29-year old Steffen Frahm, who has achieved the golden riders badge at his young age. Frahm completed his education as a professional rider at the Landgestüt Redefin and since 2008 he was chief-rider at stallion station Jens Meyer in Dorum. There he was responsible for training and competing young dressage horses up to Grand Prix level. He qualified many young dressage horses for the Bundeschampionate, the World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden, and for Nürnberger Burg-Pokal and Louisdor Preis series for Developing PSG and GP Horses.

Frahm's most successful horse is the 13-year-old Damsey FRH (by Dressage Royal x Ritual), which he took into training as a 6 year old. Coached by Jonny Hilberath, Frahm and Damsey celebrated several victories in Grand Prix and Special and started internationally at shows in Wiesbaden, Lingen and most recently in June 2015 as a member of the German team at the Nations Cup tournament in Rotterdam.
