Dutch Olympian Diederik van Silfhout has a new Grand Prix horse in training, the 12-year old Westfalian gelding Four Seasons (by Furst Piccolox Mon Cheri x Rex Fritz).
Bred by Gestut Modexer Hof and previously owned by Monica Ackermann, the German liver chestnut has been acquired by German Silve Dietrich-Osten and Van Silfhout secured a share in him.
Four Seasons was first competed by Claudia Breker for two years in 2008 and 2009. In 2014 the horse resurfaced at small tour level under Olivier Oelrich who took him to Grand Prix only three months later. Oelrich and Four Seasons did only three national shows together in 2015. Ann Christin Wienkamp showed the horse only once in the Intermediaire II at the May national show in Dorsten.
Van Silfhout received the ride on Four Seasons three weeks ago and they made his public debut at the 2016 CDI Maastricht where Diederik brought along the horse for training.
"He picked up the training in the beautiful atmosphere of Maastricht super well and we're happy for the progress he's making," said Van Silfhout. To Eurodressage he added, "I'll continue to ride him the upcoming time and hope to have a second horse after Arlando. Eventually we'll sell him. He will make hisshow debut very soon."
