Edward Gal's first Grand Prix horse, Risky Business, has passed away at age 29 on 21 October 2019.

Risky Business was a Trakehner stallion by Iglesias out of Rheingabe (by Consul x Mozart)

Edward purchased the dark bay stallion as a yearling and it was the first horse he trained and competed at Grand Prix level.

In 1996 Gal rode himself in the picture at national level on Risky Business. It was the year that he would begin his own business with Nicole Werner in Giesbeek.

He was most successful with Risky Business in the late 1990s when he was training with Anky van Grunsven and Sjef Janssen and round the time he became part of Ad Strating's Gestion team. At the time Gal was also developing Kappucino (by Cocktail) and Lingh (by Flemmingh).

Edward made his international show debut in 1999 and with Risky he competed at a few internationals, including the 2000 CDI-W Mechelen in Belgium.

Risky Business also bred to a limited amount of mares, including Gal's hom bred Beckham EG (by Risky Business x Partout), who competed under Nynke Frankes.

„We are so thankful and blessed for the 28 years he was part of our lives," it stated. "He lived his life to the max and now he passed away in peace with his loved ones around him.“
