Asen Stojanov, President of the Serbian Equestrian Federation, has passed away on 13 November 2019 in Beograd, Serbia. Stojanov got ill unexpectedly and passed away in the hospital a day later.
Known to many as a friend, colleague, and passionate horse lover, Stojanov was committed to equestrian sport and above all considered a good and honest man.
With his passing, the Serbian equestrian federation, of which he became president in 2016, and all its members, clubs and athletes have lost a tremendous support, which he selflessly provided.
"We will never forget his energy and all efforts made to popularize and develop equestrian sport in Serbia," the Serbian equestrian federation stated.
Asen leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son. All his children are active in equestrian sport. Daughter Bojana was 2014 Balkan Junior Dressage Champion in Novi Sad and silver medalist at the 2016 Balkan Championships in Athens on Hamlet van de Styver.
A funeral will be held on Monday 18 November 2019. at 12 o'clock at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.
