With international dressage stars dancing the Grand Prix kur on the backdrop at the national competition in Bad Salzuflen, Germany, the 2000 Pony Dressage Derby challenged once again Germany's best pony riders.
One day before her 16th birthday, Kira Kröncke from Dorum (GER) won the show with her third (!) choice in her FEI dressage pony collection. Kira, who is already competing in the juniors riders division, saddled Edwin, a Dutch bred pony she is riding for her fifth year. Kröncke kept her two other stars at home, the 1999 European Champion Konrad and the top breeding stallion Dressmann I.
Second place went to Linda Illmer who saddled the 7 year old approved Going East. Illmer, who loves spending her days calling with her own cell phone, was recently featured in the "Rising Stars" section of the German magazine "Pferdesport International".
Third place was awarded to the 15-year old Alice Fengels who rode the approved pony sire Domino Dancing. The three winners are members of the German Pony squad striving for a team place for the 2000 European Pony Championships in Hagen, Germany, late July.
