French Team Selected for 2014 European Pony Championships after Nationals in Lamotte Beuvron

The French Equestrian Federation and chef d'euipe and selector Alizee Froment have announced the team that will represent France at the 2014 European Pony Championships in Millstreet, Ireland, on 29 july - 3 August 2014. The final French selection trial was held at the National Pony Championships in Lamotte Beuvron last weekend.

Clarissa Stickland and her German riding pony mare Diana taking the title for the second, consecutive yearwith a combined score of 70.43%. Manon Desjardins and the experienced Italic des Landes became the silver medalists, while the bronze went to Mathilde Thevenot on her new pony Osbourne. Under grey skies and rain the championship was decided with the team and individual test. The atmosphere at Lamotte is always “demanding” for dressage ponies, who compete next to jumping arenas and with close to 7000 ponies on the site for the week of competition in what the Guinness World records have validated in 2012  as the"Biggest Equestrian Event in the World."

The 2014 French Pony Championships concluded on Monday 7 July 2014 with a separate “Trophée des As” event for the freestyle. Stickland won again with 71.13%, Mathilde was a close second with 70.88% and Lea Bonifay and Tim were on the third step of the podium with 69.53%.

The French pony team for Millstreet includes:

Reserve 1 : Lola Aragnol Dussossoy and Sauvage des Morins, owner Véronique Guillet
Reserve 2 : Ariane Alazard and Opale des Vents, owner Lionel Dedrie
