Next on the calendar is the great Fiesta of Spanish Dressage, the IXth edition of the International Dressage Festival, the annual meeting point of all dressage fans and major rider combinations. At the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, once more a CDI3 * is offered in the program, followed by the Spanish Senior Championships. From 20 - 31 May 2015 Dressage will be the order of the day at the CCVM.
This year, in its ninth edition (20 - 24 May 2015), this now classic competition will be held again at the venue where it debuted last year, the fantastic facilities of the centennial Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. A real opportunity to not only compete in the Festival but at the same time prepare the Senior National Championships which will take place after three days of rest, on the venue.
The biggest dressage event
No doubt the Festival of Dressage is already for many years the show with more participation in the history of our country, just last year nearly 300 rider combinations were reached. The Dressage Festival Villa de Madrid is considered one of the biggest equestrian events in Spain and being a part of the Festival is almost a tradition. It is a show that has grown every year, not only in numbers but also in innovation and quality. It is the competition with the most extensive program, from international, national to a local show with all tests. Those who might be concerned about enough space on the showgrounds should not worry, the club is well equiped with 3 competition arenas, 3 warm up arenas and another training arena.
Spectators enjoy
The purpose of the Festival of Dressage Villa de Madrid is to bring our horses and dressage closer to the spectators, amateurs, from children to mere horse lovers. In this sense Dalia Saliamonas, who launched the idea 9 years ago, has done a great job! Dalia, amateur, passionate horse rider and owner, has a clear idea, a simple objective: to enjoy equestrian competition and promote the discipline of dressage. “I wanted to create a format for everyone, to compete and have fun and feel comfortable in a competition.”
Dalia Saliamonas was the first in our country who, together with Topiberian, bet on the live broadcasting of equestrian events. Since 2008 this show has been live streamed and she was also among the first in Spain to support the professional organization of dressage competitions.
The Festival will be live streamed and commented as always by Bobby Fdz de Bobadilla former Dressage Head on www.topiberian.com interesting co-commentators will join her.
And since the birth of the Festival, her concern was that the riders had fun, that they had fun prizes, and that beginners might be close to their idols and learn and imitate by example, while competing in a category corresponding to their level; this is why the festival is not only a top competition, but offers a fantastic opportunity to bring together top riders, breeders, owners and other professionals as well as families, children and parents. From the amateur to the professional rider and from Children to Grand Prix Riders the Festival offers the possibility for everyone.
Sponsors
Sponsorship these days does not come easily. However the 2015 Madrid Festival has perhaps more than many other big events as it joins forces in a landmark setting. And precisely because of its philosophy that attracts the attention of the general public. Come and see how year after year the Country Club of Madrid innovates and excedes itself. The generous support of Generali, Finca Tineo, Naviera El Cano, Corte Inglés, Telefónica, GesCab, and more help make this possible.
This Festival, born in 2007, seems touched by success, because since its first edition all available entries have been filled and what was to be a local competition was opened to other regions at the request of the riders.
Why Madrid
The Club dates back to 1908, but no spider webs can be found. We are talking about nice facilities, at the height of the requirements of any TOP competition athlete, with the charm of decades.
The Club de Campo Villa de Madrid is the ideal place for the Festival
and one of the few centers in Madrid that can host this large number of participants and meet their needs. The Club de Campo is undoubtedly the preferred venue also for its central location just 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Madrid. Where riders can enjoy a wide cultural offer from the Prado to the Reina Sofía, from Loewe to Custo, concerts, theatres, Michelin restaurants and many attractions.
Madrid is a warm and welcoming town with an open heart for foreigners and guests; the cities Major Ana Botella confirmed it at the opening of the recent celebration of the Longines Global Champions tour. Jumping colleagues enjoyed the quality of the facilities, nice climate and many attractions.
Hospitality Area
CCVM and the Festival offer a food court, where viewers can watch the competition and in turn have lunch, dinner or just a drink or a coffee while enjoying the tests. Contact madrid@topiberian.com for information about tables and spaces available.
