Three New Venues for 2017 Louisdor Cup Show Circuit

After Sammy Davis Jr won the 2016 Louisdor Cup Finals in Frankfurt, representatives of the German Equestrian Federation announced the schedule of Louisdor Cup qualifiers for the 2017 show season. Three new qualification venues have been created for the show circuit.

The Louisdor Cup is the German Developing Grand Prix horse show circuit with a number of qualifiers and a finals annually held during the CDI Frankfurt in December.

For the 2017 show season a few changes have been made to the format. The amount of qualifiers has been increased with three new venues where the qualification classes will be held: The CDI Wiesbaden, the CDI Darmstadt and the CDI Oldenburg are bred new venues for the circuit.

Six qualifiers will be held in total from April till November. The 2017 Louisdor Cup season kicks off traditionally at the CDI Hagen Horses & Dreams competition at Hof Kasselmann. This year it will conclude at the CDI Oldenburg on 2 - 5 November 2017 with the Finals scheduled in Frankfurt for 14 - 17 December 2017.

The two highest scoring pairs per qualifier are eligible to compete in the Finals and the best three pairs per qualifier may compete in the only indoor qualifier in Oldenburg. German team trainer Monica Theodorescu will also be eligible to give three wild cards to deserving pairs for Oldenburg. The two best scoring horses in Oldenburg, who are not already qualified for the Finals, will be eligible to go to Frankfurt. The total field for Frankfurt will feature 12 combinations.

In 2016 the qualifiers were held in Hagen, Munich, Heroldsberg, Schenefeld and Donaueschingen.
