Trude Hestengen's career making Grand Prix horse Tobajo Pik Disney has passed away. The stallion was 18 years old.

Tobajo Pik Disney was a 2005 born Norwegian warmblood by Tobajo Picez out of What's Up (by Walt Disney). He was bred by Tormod Bakke Johnson in Norway.

The chestnut was proclaimed champion of the 2010 Norwegian Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Vestfold as a 5-year old.

In 2009 the FEI listed the horse as owned by Ann-Cathrin Hosson and Connie Mjølnerød  while this ownership changed to rider Trude Hestengen and her family in 2010.

The Danish based Norwegian professional dressage rider Hestengen made her international show debut on Tobajo Pik Disney at the 2011 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where they were 9th in the 6-year old consolation finals.

Their  international small tour debut was at the 2013 CDI Vestfold in February 2013 and in the autumn of  2013 they moved up to Grand Prix level.

They represented Norway at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, where they were 56th, and at the 2015 European Dressage Championships in Aachen where they finished 24th in the Grand Prix Special. They were the 2013 and 2015 Norwegian Grand Prix champions.

In August 2015 Swedish entrepreneur Jenny Linden-Urnes of Christinelund Dressage purchased Pik Disney as a Grand Prix horse for her head rider, Sofie Lexner.

Lexner and Tobajo Pik Disney made their show debut at the 2016 CDN Hedensted in Denmark and scored 65.461% in the Inter II and 67.567% in the Grand Prix. At their first Swedish national show in Astorp on 18 March 2016 they got 67.23% in the Inter II.

It was their last show as the horse got injured. Lexner and Disney made a quiet show come back in November 2016 in a test of choice class at the CDN Ankum. Their Swedish return was at the 2017 CDN Astorp, where they scored 70.733% in the Grand Prix for the victory.

Almost two years after being purchased for her to ride, Lexner made her international show debut on Disney at the 2017 CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland, where they posted 70.780% in the Grand Prix. Another injury sidelined the stallion again for more than a year, but Lexner's pregnancy (summer 2017) and the birth of her child (March 2018) also kept them from the show ring.

The pair made a second international come back at the 2018 CDI Falsterbo and a month later they rode at the CDI Verden, where they earned 72.065% in the Grand Prix.

Unfortunately Verden was Disney last international show.

Retired from Sport

In April 2020 it was announced that Disney was retired from competition sport due to returning injuries.

On 18 April 2023 owner Christinelund announced that Tobajo Pik Disney passed away.

"Following an accident our much loved Tobajo Pik Disney is no longer with us," the owner stated. "We are heartbroken and sad but will remember Disney as the King amongst horses he was. "

The last year of his retirement, Disney spent with Amanda Axtelius.
