The weekly online auctions of Westfalian foals continue and at the latest one, for which the bidding closed on 17 June 2024, the chestnut colt Excalibur became the price highlight, but was a non-sale.

A collection of 29 foals was on offer and 22 of them found a new owner for an average price of 5,841 euro.

The highest bidding price was for Excalibur (By Escanto PS x Don Index), bred by Nico Kapche. He had a hammer price of 16,500 euro, but this was not the reserve price the owner had set and the foal did not sell.

The best seller of this auction, who actually found a new owner, was the jumper colt Heartbeat (by Heartbreaker x Toulon), which sold for 9,250 euro.

The best-paid dressage foals cost 8,000 euro: A Belgian bought Drachenblut M.O (by Diamantenglanz x Ehrenstolz) for that price and a German acquired Vilomena (by Vitalos x Follow Him's Schonweide) for the same price.

Foreign bidders came from Finland for Megabite PZH (McLaren x Sir Donnerhall - 6,250 euro), Great Britain for Diamant Hero (by Diamantenglanz x Flanagan - 6,250 euro), France for Viola (by Velvedere x Belissimo M 5,750 euro), Belgium for Falco WF (by Farrell x Dancier - 4750 euro) and El Paso (by Endorphin x Fidertanz - 4250 euro), and Denmark for Visalia (by Van Vermeer x Benicio - 4750 euro)

"After a highly successful foal auction last week, we have of course been brought back down to earth a little today. Nevertheless, we remain true to our line and would like to continue to offer many breeders access to the various platforms of our sales and auctions," says auction manager Thomas Münch.
