Springbank VH, a 2015 and 2017 World Young Horse Championship finalist, has been sold to the U.S.A.. He is the full brother to the popular breeding stallion Springbank II.
Springbank VH is a 10-year old Swedish warmblood by Skovens Rafael out of De La Reinne VH (by De Niro x Rohdiamant x Amiral). He is bred by Vastra Hoby in Sweden.
Double World Championship Finalist
Under Swedish Mattias Jansson, the beautiful chestnut gelding won the 2013 Swedish Young Horse Championships. Under Swedish Jeanna Hogberg the highly talented horse made its international show debut in the 5-year old young horse classes at the 2015 CDI Vidauban and won four tests out of four with 80+ scores.
Hogberg then went on to represent the Swedish warmblood society at the 2015 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, where they finished fifth in the preliminary test and 14th in the finals. They finished the year by winning the Swedish Young Horse Championships.
The horse to one to watch for the future, but Springbank I disappeared from the scene after Verden.
In January 2016 it was announced that a half share in the ownership of the horse was sold by owners Jeanna Hogberg and majority share holder, breeder Tobias Hansson, to Andreas Helgstrand.
Only two years, in June 2017, Springbank reappeared in the show ring under Helgstrand. They went to the 2017 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they placed 11th in the 7-year old preliminary test. In the Finals he was quite tense and ended up 14th.
National Shows in Denmark
Springbank VH then disappeared from the international spotlight. He returned to the show arena in June 2018 at national Prix St Georges level in Denmark under Carina Nevermann Torup. In August 2018 she rode him at the Bundgaard Cup qualifier in the PSG - Inter I and Inter I Kur with scores of 72.06%, 67.544% and 69.66%.
More than one year absence from the show ring followed and Springbank returned at the local show "Dressur Halloween" under Soren Wind at M-level in November 2019.
A New Life in the U.S.A.
Springbank VH has now been sold to Vance Diggins from Paramount Equestrian Centre in Colorado.
Diggins is a passionate amateur dressage rider who does real estate development. He rides Mette Rosencrantz' former international Grand Prix horse Marron (by Michellino) as his schoolmaster and the 8-year old Hanoverian Fabulous Lee (by Furstenball). He has now added Springbank VH to his string as a small tour horse.
Springbank has arrived in the U.S.A. at Steffen and Shannon Peters' yard in Arroyo del Mar, California, where he'll stay in training with Shannon.
"Vance will come out with his other two horses to train as of 1 March," Shannon told Eurodressage. "He will be a competition horse for Vance. Vance is a friend of 30 years, and this is his once in a lifetime horse! Springbank is green Grand Prix now, and so lovely to ride. A perfect fit for Vance."
