Renowned figure in the equestrian world, Hermann Duckeck, passed away on March 3, 2001, after a short period of severe illness. For 25 years Duckek was the footing expert for dressage and show jumping stadiums world wide.
His career started in Denmark were he was known as a major event organizer and later as footing specialist. He was the footing professional for world championships, world cup finals and all Olympic Games since 1976
Hermann Duckeck was diagnosed with cancer after his return from the Olympic Games in Sydney. Although he was operated on, he died quickly in peace at home. Duckeck was 64 years old.
