Mistral Højris, one of Denmark's best Prix St. Georges horses, has been sold to Wilfried Bechtolsheimer in Great Britain. The chestnut gelding is a Danish Warmblood by Michellino and competed under Hasse Hoffmann at Intermediaire I level in Denmark
scoring consistently in the 70s.
Hoffmann, who purchased Mistral as a youngster for an already huge amount of money from Ernst Jessen, sold the horse to Bechtolsheimer three days ago. Mistral will be ridden by Wilfried's daughter Laura Bechtolsheimer.
"Mistral has impressed us with his athletic movements, the very active hindlegs and his lovely attitude," Wilfried Bechtolsheimer told Eurodressage. "When we looked at him the first time, Laura got on with him extremely well."
Laura Bechtolsheimer has planned to compete Mistral in the small tour classes for the first half of 2005 and aims for the big tour by the end of the year. "To start with, our main aim is to qualify him for the 2005 European Young Riders Championships," Bechtolsheimer said.
