Sissy Max-Theurer's Olympic team horse Liechtenstein has passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2006. Because of a severe bout of colic, "Liechti" was transported to the veterinary clinic where he was operated on. Unfortunately the damage was too severe and he had to be put down.
Liechtenstein was Austrian Olympic champion Sissy Max-Theurer's third Olympic mount. Max-Theurer competed him at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, where they finished eigth. At the 1994 World Equestrian Games in The Hague they landed a twelfth place.
Liechtenstein came to Sissy Max-Theurer's yard in Achleiten, Austria, in 1990 when he was a six-year old. In 1994, he sustained a severe injury in the field and was retired from then on. Liechtenstein became 22-years old.
