The renowned Swedish warmblood stallion Chapman (Chagall x Dorn) has passed away on May 3, 2006. The 24-year old stallion died in his stall, most likely from a heart attack. Chapman has been owned all these years by Elise Fredriksson who purchased him as a yearling.
"He was with me for 23-years. He'll be very hard to replace," a saddened Elise Fredriksson said.
Chapman was one of Sweden's leading breeding stallions. He is ranked in the top ten of the Swedish breeding index and has produced numerous offspring that are competing at international level. Some of his most famous get are the breeding stallion Rambo and Peter Markne's Swedish young horse champion Ten Points.
Chapman himself was competed by Per Johansson his entire Grand Prix career and they were one of the top Swedish combinations in the '90s. He regularly competed at the Swedish National Dressage Championships. He finished fifth at the 1998 Championships in Stromsholm, fifth in 1996 in Flyinge, third in 1994 in Falsterbo and fourth in 1992 in Stromsholm. Johansson and Chapman competed at the 1994 World Equestrian Games in The Hague, where they placed sixth with the Swedish team.
