The Dutch junior/young riders' selection trials have started for team selection for the 2008 European Junior and Young Riders Championships. The KNHS-CHIO Rotterdam Cup is a show circuit in The Netherlands for junior and young riders with a finals at the CDIO Rotterdam.
The circuit classes also count as qualifiers for the Dutch junior-young rider teams.
Lotje Schoots and the Florestan offspring Toricelli were the best scoring young rider combination at the selection trial in Roosendaal, The Netherlands. Schoots scored the winning percentage of 70.000% in the team championship test and placed second with Luxform's Popeye (by Havel) with 68.44%. One month earlier, Schoots had already won the previous trial in Harmelen with Popeye. Chantal van Lanen and Beaujolais (by Bright Speed) placed third with 68.22%. She won the trial in Weert and is currently leading the provisional ranking for the Rotterdam Cup.

Jarissa van Silfhout was the highest scoring junior at the trial in Roosendaal. Aboard Trappel (by Havel) the daughter of Grand Prix rider Alex van Silfhout scored 70,33% and won. Michelle van Lanen and her routinier Incredible (by Voltaire) finished second on 68.83% and referred Angela Krooswijk on the Westfalian stallion Roman Nature (by Rohdiamant) to a third place.
The next show in the KNHS-CHIO Rotterdam Cup is in Nieuw en Sint Joosland on 16th March 2008.
