Swiss dressage Olympian Christine Stuckelberger has decided to retire from the board of the Xenophon society effective immediately. Sixty-three year old Stuckelberger was a founding member of the Xenophon society, which promotes classical dressage mainly in Germany.
Stuckelberger became the vice-president of the Xenophon society upon its foundation in Warendorf. As of 7 June 2010 Susanne Miesner succeeded her as vice chair while she continued to head the training board.
In a press release issued today, Stuckelberger announced her resignation. "After careful consideration I have decided to resign from all my functions definitively and declare my demission from Xenophon," Stuckelberger wrote.
"I have the feeling that, since the society became so big, we are no longer on the same line," Stuckelberger told St. Georg. "It should have been about the welfare of the horse, not persons or prestige."
