After a one-year absence the international indoor competition Jumping Indoor Maastricht will return on the 2012 show calendar with confirmed dates for 15 - 18 November 2012.
Jumping Indoor Maastricht (JIM) initially was a World Cup dressage qualifier but the event lost that status as of 2007. It then hosted a CDI show but had to drop that as well. The past few years it featured only a limited number of national dressage classes while show jumping was always the main attraction. In 2011 due to lack of sponsors, JIM did not take place at all.
With the combined force of Rosmalen tennis event organizer Marcel Hunze and CHIO Aachen show director Frank Kemperman, JIM aims to return in 2012 in style. This was announced at a special press meeting at the MECC hall in Maastricht, The Netherlands.
"Indeed we want to try to put JIM back on the map," Frank Kemperman told Eurodressage today. "Our first task is to find sponsor to make things happen. We don't have a program yet, but I'm sure that dressage will become part of it. How and in what form is still the question."
