Pernilla Bigaard has become the newly appointed chair of the Danish Dressage Committee at the Danish Equestrian Federation. An avid dressage rider herself, Bigaard is an attorney by profession.

"An absolutely key issue for me is to develop and disseminate dressage sport at all levels. It requires that we work diligently to ensure good riding and competition opportunities for all. Therefore, we must strengthen cooperation and dialogue with the clubs, it is also where we pick up riders, judges and other officials. So we must help the clubs, as much as we can, " said Pernille Bigaard.

The 58-year old Bigaard was chair of the Holte Riding Club from 2005 and 2007. She has taken over the chair position on the Danish dressage committee, which became vacant in March 2011 with Hans-Christian Matthiesen's departure. Matthiesen was elected on the Danish Equestrian Federation Board.
