Westfalian Breeding News

The renowned 14-year old Westfalian licensed stallion Belissimo (by Beltain x Romadour II) will be sold in an executorial auction on 2 November 2013. This Grand Prix level trained and competed stallion is owned by Zucht and Sportpferde Schmidt.

On 2 April 2013 Eurodressage posted the scoop that the partnership between Australian Grand Prix rider Hayley Beresford and her 2012 Olympic contender Belissimo M had come to an end because of financial woes at Schmidt's yard. At the time Michael Schmidt strongly denied those allegations, but now the moment has come that the horse will be auctioned.

Belissimo M is one of Germany's most popular breeding stallions with 43 licensed offspring, 69 state premium mares and several Bundeschampions, including Blickpunt, the World Young Horse Championships silver and bronze medallist.

Today St.Georg reported that Belissimo M will be up for auction at Hof Gosmeier in Marl, Germany, on 2 November 2013.
