The Danish warmblood gelding South West Rocazino became the top selling horse of the inaugural 2014 Premium Auction held during the Winter Equestrian Nights at equestrian centre Azelhof in Lier, Belgium, on 2 February 2014.
Bettina Laisbo has trained and competed the 7-year old South West Rocazino (by Don Romantic x Latimer) and now offered him for sale via the Premium Auction in Belgium. The dark bay gelding achieved a knock down price of 340,000 euro but was in fact bought back by his Danish owner the Laisbo family.
The second most expensive horse was Delano, a 6-year old dark bay gelding (by Jazz x Carentino), which sold for 140,000 euro to a Russian client.
The collection of the 2014 Premium Auction was picked by Stephanie Vanthiegem and Dominique Wouters in partnership with Adelinde Cornelissen and her jumper partner Sjaak van der Lei. The Russian buyer of Delano will put the horse in training with Cornelissen.
The average price for a horse at this auction was 42,421 euro.
