The KWPN licensed breeding stallion Rhodium (by Ferro x G Ramiro Z x Voltaire) will be moving to Scotland to stand at stud. The black stallion has been leased to Ben Wentink for one breeding season.
Only four months ago, the news was announced that the 16-year old Rhodium was to become Rachell Fokker's junior riders' competition horse for the 2014 show season, but the Fokker family have now reached an agreement with Wentink for Rhodium to move abroad.
Under Hans Peter Minderhoud Rhodium finished 12th in the 5-year old finals at the 2003 World Young Horse Championships in Verden. In 2004 the pair was 6th in the Finals at the World Young Horse Championships. The duo continued to win the Z-level division of the 2004-2005 KWPN Stallion Competition.
For three years Rhodium disappeared from the scene. He returned in 2008 under Diederik van Silfhout and competed at the 2008 Dutch Young Riders Championships and a few international shows. Since March 2012 he has been in training with Christa Larmoyeur. In October 2013 Rhodium moved to junior rider Rachell Fokker.
"I was receiving more requests for fresh semen from a proven dressage stallion," Wentink explained. "For years we have been standing Hemmingway as well as Silverstone and Vegas. A dressage stallion was missing."
The lease contract was negotiated during the 2014 KWPN Stallion Licensing in Den Bosch at the beginning of February.
