Jason Brautigam, New CEO for British Dressage

British Dressage has announced Jason Brautigam is to be the new Chief Executive to replace Amanda Bond who departs the organisation on 12 June for her new role with the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Jason (42) is a very worthy replacement who brings a massive amount of experience to the role. He has been running his own marketing communications consultancy business for the past two years, with clients including Goodwood Racecourse, Arena Racing Company and York Racecourse Prior to that, he was the Managing Director for Totepool, responsible for Tote betting at all 60 racecourses in the UK, with total turnover of £410 million. Before his role with the Tote, Jason was Head of Sales and Marketing at Ascot Racecourse.

Commenting on his appointment Jason said; “I’m delighted to be appointed Chief Executive for British Dressage and really looking forward to joining the team. These are exciting times for the sport. There’s a great opportunity to capitalise on the recent success of British riders to promote dressage to a wider audience and attract new supporters, whether as competitors, spectators or sponsors. Although most of my career has been spent in horseracing to date, I will aim to bring some of the commercial knowledge gained elsewhere in the equestrian world to help British Dressage achieve its full potential. I’m relishing the prospect of taking over the reins in June and wish Amanda all the best in her new role.”

Jason joins the team at Meriden on Monday 09 June which gives a short hand-over period.

The Board and management team were involved and we were unanimous in agreeing that Jason was the one for the role.
